Qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen before gaining extensive industry experience in the Food Retail, Travel and Food and Beverage sectors. Joined SSP as Group Financial Controller in 2006 following the sale of the business by Compass, and since then has played a pivotal role in establishing and growing SSP as a standalone business, both under private equity ownership and following its successful IPO in 2014, including three years as CFO of its biggest division in the UK. Prior to SSP, gained broad and very valuable experience across a variety of senior finance roles, notably during a 13 year career at Safeway plc before working for 2 years as Group Financial Controller at Lastminute.com.Outside of work, a keen sportsman, still playing league cricket to a reasonable standard. Love watching sport, especially football (Newcastle United fan), cricket (Worcestershire CCC) and golf. Also a big fan of horse racing (National Hunt).Last but not least, supported by an amazing wife, three grown up sons and a lively cocker spaniel.
