Using music to spark cultural curiosity, the Nile Project engages musicians and audiences, encouraging them to feel connected to the world’s longest river and to explore new approaches to its large-scale social, cultural, and environmental problems. The Collective’s collaborative model is a blueprint for a new way Nile Citizens can organize themselves to cooperate to make the Nile more sustainable. In an evolving series of interlocking programs that spring from the concert experience, the project aims to inspire, educate and empower young people worldwide to become Nile Citizens.

Dina El Wedidi's debut Album comes out in early 2015 as the Egyptian Singer / Composer is one of the most watched and adored musicians out of the Middle East. Along with brilliant Arranger / Co-producer / violinist Nancy Mounir, recording engineers Mafdy Tabet and Alaa Kashif, and their all star band of Cairo Musicians including Accordionist Wael Essayyid, Drummer Ra'afat, Bassist Sika, and guitarist Mohamed Adel, it was an honor to work with this team! Album out on the Norweigan label KKV under director Eric Hillestad with Sound Engineer Martin Abrahamson.

'Egypt' is a Grammy Award-winning album by the Senegalese musician Youssou N'Dour, on which he is accompanied by the Egyptian Fathy Salama Orchestra. For the US tour of this album which opened at Carnegie Hall in NYC, I played upright bass as well as selected and rehearsed 12 musicians proficient in both Arabic Classical performance styles as well as Senegalese to fill out the Egypt Orchestra.
