Since I was young, I’ve always been fascinated by machines and technology. With many close family members in the field of engineering, there was always something interesting going on or discussed in my household and at family gatherings. My fascination with machines kept flourishing with time as I began to discover ways to entertain engineering at home, such as 3D printing. Continuing on this path, I joined FIRST robotics during high school where I had incredible opportunities to engage in design and connect with professional engineers. These experiences not only fueled my curiosity but also solidified my determination to pursue a career in engineering. With years of hands-on experience in CAD design, additive manufacturing, and machining, I bring a versatile skill set to any project I’m a part of. My enthusiasm for engineering has been nurtured through my experiences in university and at The Boeing Company, where I explored and studied satellite mechanism designs and battery analysis. These experiences have allowed me to extensively develop my interpersonal, mechanical, and cognitive skills. As a fourth year Mechanical Engineering student, I have had the wonderful opportunity to work on a two-term Capstone project; for my project, my team and I developed a fully 3D printed hovercraft which competed at the ASME IAM3D®: Innovative Additive Manufacturing 3D Challenge in April, 2024 where we took first place and set a record as the fastest hovercraft to date. Additionally, as an alumni of the FIRST Robotics program, I understand how important it is to give children access to engineering resources and educational opportunities they would not otherwise have immediately available. As I enter industry, I believe it is my responsibility to continue to influence those around me not only to enter the field of engineering, but to equitably help those who are underrepresented and set those standards for my peers. As I begin the next chapter of my career, I am excited to apply my diverse skill set and practical experience to meaningful projects within the field of engineering. Whether it's tackling complex design challenges or driving forward-thinking projects, I am committed to making an impact and shaping the minds of future engineers.
