As an Undergraduate Researcher in the Cox Lab at UC Berkeley, I am engaged in immunology research aimed at understanding how specific immune cells respond to components derived from Mycobacterium species. Under two renowned PhD and graduate student mentors, my project focuses on analyzing the activation patterns of Vγ9Vδ2 T cells in response to Mycobacterial antigens. By investigating these interactions, I seek to uncover potential immune pathways that could be targeted for therapeutic intervention.My work involves designing and conducting experiments that assess immune cell responses under various controlled conditions. Utilizing advanced immunological techniques, I analyze cellular behavior to gain insights into how these immune cells recognize and react to pathogenic antigens. This research contributes to the broader goal of understanding host-pathogen interactions and supports efforts to identify potential immunotherapies in the fight against infectious diseases.
