I am an electrical / electronic engineering technician graduate. I was enrolled in Danville Community College's renowned Electrical Electronics Engineering (EEE) Diploma program. The program was 2 years and I graduated with honors (3.8 GPA). I hold certificates for electrical concepts, electronic concepts, industrial electric principles, industrial electronic principles, and AAS in substation engineering. My educational experience does not end with electricity. I graduated Galileo Magnet High School with an Advanced Studies Diploma in June 2007. I was very involved at this NASA-sponsored school where I compIeted several aeronautics courses and was in the school's aero-club. In May 2009 I obtained my Associates Degree in Liberal Arts (DCC), finishing Magna Cum Laude in my studies. I also attended a four year college at Averett University where I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Aerospace Management in the Flight Operations field (December 2012). I studied and learned how to become a pilot in the program and earned all of my ratings up to Commercial Single and Multi-engine. After graduating aeronautics school, I moved to Pompano Beach, Florida where I attended a Flight Instructor Academy at American Flyers (March 2013). I obtained my Certificated Flight Instructor ratings (CFI-I-A). From there I moved to Kissimmee, Florida and instructed at a 14 CFR Part 141 flight school called Sunstate Aviation (flying mostly Cessnas).I took my experience as a Flight Instructor and proceeded to seek out jobs as an airline first officer. In February 2015 I worked for an airline called Republic Airways Holdings and performed commercial pilot duties in an Embraer 170/175 aircraft for four and a half years. Republic is a 14 CFR Part 121 Air Carrier under contract with American, Delta, and United Airlines. I resigned in August 2019 due to stresses with the Covid-19 pandemic and the desire to pursue a different career path. I obtained over 5,000 hours of logged flying time since 2009. I still hold a pilot and flight instructor rating. My current goal (away from flying) is to take my state licensing exam and become a journeyman electrician. To do this I will need to log on the job training. I currently work as an apprentice at M.C. Dean (a top federal contractor). I passed rigorous background and earned my base access for Camp Lejeune in NC. I currently have my OSHA 10 and working toward OSHA 30.

I worked as a retail sales associate as my first ever job at the Grand Opening for Danville, Virginia in June 2008. As you can imagine there was a lot going on in preparation for the grand opening. During my time here I helped demonstrate excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and strong interpersonal and leadership skills. I gave superior customer service in the number one home improvement retailer worldwide. I assessed the needs of the customer, remained friendly, and provided product knowledge and support. I also acted and still act as a coach to new employees in training. I provide them with training on keeping the area neat, clean and organized. I also maintain various lift truck licenses at this store (propane forklift, electric reach truck, and order picker). In May 2013 I took a hiatus from Home Depot to pursue other career goals. After my resignation as a pilot in August 2019, I decided to go back to college at DCC and re-apply for Home Depot. I currently work here and have worked here since April 2020. I plan to keep this job while I am still in college. It has great benefits and they really treat their employees well.
