CurrentOn our farm, now heading into its sixth year, my focus is horticultural practices and research, though I spend many hours on my knees weeding. We market our sustainably grown produce, featuring a wide variety of unusual and heirloom varieties, plus herbs, flowers and more.While we can grow anything in this wonderful, Willamette Valley, Oregon, climate, the addition of a 2,000 sq. ft. hoop house (HH) has been a huge plus, but also means figuring out the best varieties and amounts for the HH, using vertical growing systems where possible, and using smaller HH in the field to increase production. Our early successes have meant we are now in intense, year-around production serving both restaurant cliental and CSA customers. So, we are no longer dependent upon farmers markets to thrive.
