Profile bio

About Milind Tembulkar

UX design, UI development, visual design, service scape design, illustration, and painting, I have explored everything that encompasses design. As a schoolboy I realized that drawing and painting gave me immense pleasure. My inner quest to become a professional artist led me to the Art school (Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalay, Pune). As a student of Applied Arts, during the five years diploma programme, I learnt a lot about design, advertising, branding, illustration and more. After the Applied Arts Diploma Programme, I decided to delve deeper into the field of art and pursue Fine Arts. The Diploma Programme in Fine Arts enhanced my knowledge and views about contemporary art. I learnt and explored Indian art, western art, revolutions in the art world, different types of isms, and mediums.Since my early college days, I participated in many prestigious shows with renowned artists like Anjolie Ela Menon, Gogi Saroj Pal, Thota Vaikuntham to name a few, and hosted some solo shows. Till the year 2008, I worked as an independent art director, painter, illustrator, and cartoonist. My design concepts underwent a sea-change as I dived headlong into the world of UX and UI design, animation etc. After a short spell with Activegraphy Studio, another opportunity came knocking at my door and I joined Siddbetter Technologies (a Hongkong based gaming company) as Design Manager and I entered a new world of gaming. This stint gave me the opportunity to gain in-depth hand on experience in UX where I worked on 5 games for iPhone. Later I shifted to my current organization NityaObject Software Services as a solo UX/UI designer; here I worked on many enterprise, B2B & B2C applications for US-based companies.Ambition to me is the opportunity to learn more and more. Learning new things - be it software, design paradigms, business domains, - is something I will never tire of. An animal lover to the core, I am a very sensitive towards animals, especially stray animals. I have rescued many stray dogs and cats, and even some birds like Eagle, Kite. I have adopted four stray dogs.

Ui & Design Manager

Pune, Maharashtra, India

Siddbetter is Hongkong based gaming company. They deliver puzzle games & educational games to make learning easy & enjoyable. Why game design is a crazy thing? I got the answer when designed the first game “Whats Odd” for iPhone. I had brainstorming a lot with team members and stakeholders during ideation. I realised that Collaborating with team is an extremely effective way to increase communication and trust between teams. A very first I studied Apple Human Interface Guideline and then followed during designing. I worked on competitive analysis and this user research method was helpful for understanding our product’s competitors. There were a number of iterations of L/H fidelity mock-ups till reached the desired result. I always focused on creating stunning game assets (graphics) & built a user-friendly UI and designed rich experience. I have worked on many games during my stint with the Organization but “Space Trap 1” was special for me because my contributions were gameplay & story planning, theme/concept developing. My main focus was on designing game elements, characters, UI/GUI, environment and most important was experience design. The level screen was most interesting part of this game as there are 8 episodes and 175 levels and each episode had different scenario and that was challenging. I have animated whole gameplay in Flash to design experience (At that time tools were not available for interactive prototyping) for my team members & stakeholders as it could be helpful for decision making and especially for developers so they could get an idea while coding. The Space Trap 1 (still available by the name Space Sort on app store) was launched which was received very well in the market.
