In this position I'm focusing on saving the world: as a senior researcher in Management and Organisation in the Turku School of Economics, for the next few years I'm involved in research projects that combine biodiversity and leadership research with the aim of mainstreaming biodiversity respectful consumption, business and societal decision-making.

At the lab we explore socio-economic-technological change when it is not normal, but disruptive. This we do on the levels of organizations, economic ecosystems and societal implications.My responsibility is the development, coordination and collaborative execution of our research activities.

HP Turku is a part of a national Hallituspartnerit network, which aims at developing board work in the SME sector by 1) helping to recruit capable board members, 2) fostering the skills and capabilities of board members, and 3) highlighting the benefits of professional board work within the SME sector.(So yes, I'm the chair of the board of the board members association. How's that for tautology ;) )

Merikratos Oy produces child welfare services for both public and private sector. All of its board members are external, chosen for their different areas of expertise. My contribution comes in the forms of internal and external communications, issues related to organization culture, and strategic understanding.

The fourth industrial revolution or the sixth Kodratieff wave - depending on the viewpoint the changes we're globally facing are defined differently. What's in common is the understanding that the humanity is yet again on the verge of something that will change what we view as normal: think on a scale of agriculture to industry, or before and after electricity. What I'm researching is the impact of these fundamental changes in the process of strategising. Upon what foundations need the strategists ground their thinking in order for the firms to not only survive but thrive in the yet again new world?During the process I have become familiar with not only the theoretical aspects of digitalization and radical technological advances, but have been granted access to observe and study the unfolding practical changes in few industries currently in throes of the still early stages of digital transformation: manufacturing and global maritime logistics.

It's called a leave, but it's work nonetheless... My employers were born in 2009 and 2011, and made up the relative lack of experience in being a boss with the apparently innate aptitude for it.

As the Communications Manager I was the head of communications sector of the museum. My responsibilities included the strategic and hands-on planning, coordinating and developing of the PR, brand management and communications of the museum in addition to being the chief editor of Kiasma-magazine, and a member of the executive board.

I worked as a producer and communications specialist with clients such as:- YLE: I produced the Eurovision Village, the sponsorship village of Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki, 2007- Sibelius-Academy: I was in charge of the concert webcasting pilot SibaTV in 2006-07, renewed the PR material of the university in 2006, did PR for the first SibaFest and have lectured about communications for the Arts Management students- Aller Publications: I produced Telvis Gala 2005- Noisy Promotion: subcontracted for MTV, openBC, Ladbrokes, Bayer

In addition to freelance radio journalism, I hosted a morning show for a time.

The first ten years of my working life was spent as a freelance musician and journalist. Both professions have taught me essential working skills that benefit every project I currently undertake. Both professions have since become cherished hobbies I still get to enjoy every once in a while.My first professional education is a university level Master's degree in classical music. In addition to learning to play french horn I learned also attention to detail and sense of quality, concentration and how to work in harmonious ensemble with very different people. Some orchestras I've worked for include the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Helsinki, Tampere and Turku Philharmonic orchestras, Tapiola Sinfonietta and the Finnish National Opera Orchestra. I played more or less full-time professionally 1996-2004, and again between the children, in 2010-2011.My second education is that of a radio journalist that evolved into writing journalism as well. I learned to think like a reporter: observe, question and analyse. I also gained insight into what interests people and how to produce good results post haste - even under stress. My main employers were YLE and Radio Dei, in written form I've contributed mainly to local and professional papers.
