Wade Miller thrives on competition whether it is in the boardroom or on the football field. On both fronts, he has proven himself a gutsy leader who achieves success through sheer determination and teamwork.To Wade, a challenge is nothing more than an opportunity waiting to happen which is why, when the Winnipeg Football Club came calling, he stepped up to the line and accepted the role as the President and CEO of this venerable community institution.Now at the helm, Wade is the driving force behind a team-based approach that is intended to re-invent and restore the once storied reputation of a Club that has been a critical part of the very fabric of our community for over eight decades.Wade’s determination is equally embedded in his approach to business where his entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found a trio of businesses that include Pinnacle, Winnipeg’s leading recruitment firm; Elite Performance, a fitness training centre for high performance athletes, and; Elite Sports Injury Clinics. When he received the prestigious Top 40 under 40 national leadership award, few who knew him were surprised. From his early days as a Winnipeg Blue Bomber, he outperformed his competition, endured through 11 CFL seasons, achieved Special Teams and All Star honours and ended his career as an inductee into the Blue Bomber Hall of Fame. His philosophy is simple. To create a winning culture, you’ve got to empower people to do what they need to do. For coaches and players, that means concentrating on being competitive and winning games. For everyone else in the organization, it’s about serving sponsors and fans and winning them back one conversation at a time!
