I currently serve as a P&C Risk Analyst for USAA Enterprise Risk and Compliance (ERC). My core responsibilities are oversight of the P&C operational loss program via internal and external loss aggregation, analysis, and reporting. As a 2nd Line of Defense analyst, I am also responsible for risk assessments, RCSA’s, PRCI’s, MRI’s and P&C underwriting risk oversight/ support.

Risk and supervisory oversight for P&C insurance and Retail Banking activities.

As a Banking & Insurance manager I managed teams ranging in size from 9 to 16 employees. My insurance team consisted of licensed Personal Lines representatives responsible for issuing and servicing Auto, Home, Rental Property, VPP, and Umbrella policies in compliance with USAA/ regulatory requirements. After 13 years as an insurance / Personal Lines agent myself I decided to broaden my skill set by transferring to USAA's Retail Banking Products division. There, I managed a team of 11 bank specialists that handled everything from product acquisition to account servicing.

I just completed a two-year rotation in Member Contact Learning and I am now working as a Relationship Specialist for New Member Solutions (NMS). I am enjoying re-connecting with colleagues and looking forward to this new adventure! In NMS I am responsible for issuing Personal Lines insurance policies in all 50 states, coaching employees, originating and closing consumer loans, running NMS nesting, and opening new deposit accounts for USAA's members. In May, 2013 I was selected for USAA's Manager Candidate School (MCS) program which has given me the opportunity to interact with people from all parts of the organization. Getting to see how different our jobs are has been fascinating and I am so enjoying being able to network with my new peers. Overall, there were 720 MCS applicants across all campuses and 72 were selected so I feel very blessed to be a part of this program. The class consists of three sessions in San Antonio, TX over the summer and our MCS graduation is coming up on August 26, 2013. I will miss getting to visit with my Tampa, Phoenix, and San Antonio classmates but I'm very glad to have been able to learn so much from them. I love working for USAA and being able to serve those who have given so much for their country is truly a privilege. As the old saying goes "Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life."

As an instructor I was responsible for facilitating Personal Lines Pipelines / Upskill / Consumer Lending courses. This was a 24 month rotation and I absolutely loved getting to teach new/ incumbent employees additional skills. I transitioned back to the business after 2.5 years and am very grateful for having been given this rare opportunity.

Issued / serviced Personal Lines insurance policies, resolved escalated conflicts, created initiatives to improve specific business results, collaborated with peers for process improvement practices, and worked as a Subject Matter Expert in the banking pilot program, New Member Solutions, and work-from-home pilot.
