Millicent Boykin has more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit administration, community engagement, and program development. Currently serving as Vice President, Strategic Partnerships for OneStar Foundation, Millicent provides leadership and oversight of OneStar’s statewide networks, programs and partnership initiatives including Together Texas. Prior to joining OneStar, Millicent was with VolunteerNow for two decades in a variety of roles before ending her tenure as Chief Program Officer. As Chief Program Officer for VolunteerNow, one of the most active volunteer centers in the country, she oversaw programs and services that supported 3,500 organizations and more than 100,000 community volunteers. Millicent is also an instructor with the Arkansas Public Administration Consortium (APAC), a program of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where she provides training on volunteer management and engagement. An active community volunteer, Millicent serves on the Best Buddies North Texas Advisory Board, Read Up Advisory Council, the Woodrow Wilson High School Community Foundation, and the American Red Cross Diversity & Inclusion Committee. In addition, she is a member of the Rotary Club of Dallas - Uptown, and was part of Leadership Dallas Class of 2012 and Leadership ISD Class of 2021. She was honored as HOBY Alum of the Year by the Texas North chapter, received a special citation for Volunteer Excellence from the American Red Cross North Texas Region, and been featured as a “Hometown Hero” with Fox 4. Millicent’s passion for service and engaging others to positively impact the community is evident through one of her favorite quotes, "I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something.
