Worked alongside my studies as a steward at large events including international rugby matches at Bath Rec stadium and Glastonbury festival. Key responsibilities included monitoring site safety and security and assisting customers.

Undertook a year-long research project exploring the role of Wnt signalling in Rift Valley fever virus infection of mosquito cells, in the Mosquito Immunology group. I independently researched and executed experiments using advanced molecular biology techniques, evaluated results and analysed data to produce a journal-style report and poster. Work included cell culture and transfections, molecular cloning, qRT-PCR, Western blot, bioinformatics, and working at Biosafety level 2, with basic access to Biosafety level 3 facilities.Gave monthly team presentations and a final project presentation open to the institute. Engaged with outreach and science communication with presentations to visiting university students and assisting with an interactive stall at the 2022 Festival of Tomorrow.Was accepted to present a poster on original research at the Microbiology Society Conference 2022 in Belfast. Subsequently won a Bath University Bioscience poster prize.
