MH & Associates is a small architectural practice producing planning drawings and working drawings for bespoke housing, extensions and new builds. My role within MH, as an architectural CAD technician, was to produce planning drawings for submission, also working drawings consisting of site & block plans, floor plans, elevations and sections. I would periodically go on site to measure up and survey projects i.e. house extensions. I produced presentation drawings that would consist of street scenes and landscaping. My other tasks included formatting drawings into pdf files for e-mailing and printing up and binding drawing packages for our clients, also filing, liaising with clients, ordering catalogues for building materials. Clients included local government councils and private building developers also private citizens wanting extensions and upgrades to their dwellings.

ASM Engineering, design and manufacture ducting for public service buildings, such as schools and hospitals. My role within ASM, as a CAD Technician, was to draw up ducting schemes to fit within risers, plant rooms and voids within the building’s structure. The ducting is used to carry clean air into the building and dirty air out. Fire and smoke control is also incorporated into the ducting design to stop the spread of fire.Autodesk Programme, CAD-DUCT, is a 3D package used within the ducting industry.
