In my masters programme with Keele University, students have In our Masters programme, students have the opportunity to apply for an "applied company research" project instead of a dissertation. These projects are based around using a mixture of theory and research to solve business and company dilemmas or to exploit emergent opportunities. I was lucky enough to score a student consultancy at More Than Just Design, a creative design and marketing agency who have adopted an integrated Human Centred Design (HCD) approach to their design process and have observed excellent benefits for their clients in terms of success since embracing this approach. The aim of my constancy project was to explore the relationship between HCD and creative effectiveness. By examining the impact of HCD on creativity, the project looked to evidence the effectiveness of creativity, with hopes to demonstrate to future clients the long-term benefits and uses of adopting the HCD approach.

The Digital Advisor Programme is an initiative that links students from Keele University to SMEs across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire in a variety of industries.Each consultancy project is for a maximum of 40 hours over a 3 month period. Through the digital-focussed project and consultancy, I leave the company in a more digitally capable position.

Being a student ambassador helps others to find out more about Higher Education, life as a student and about Staffordshire University. The scheme also provides the opportunity to further develop our social, organisational, problem solving, time management and communication skills in a practical way.

During the day I worked as a front of house supervisor at the holiday park beach diner and during the evenings I worked behind the bar as a barmaid on the holiday parks entertainment club house

As a Customer Team Member at The Co Operative Food Group my key focus is to provide a friendly and knowledgeable service to both the customers and my colleagues working as part of a team to deliver the highest standard possible of customer care and service. Responsibilities include checkout operations, replenishment, news and magazine handling, cash handling, stock control, reducing items to clear, date coding and above all acting as an ambassador for the whole of the Co-operative Group values and membership.

This was a 6 week internship which included working within 4 different areas:-Economical Regeneration-Customer and IT Services -Accounts-Internal AuditDuring my time at Newcastle Under Lyme Borough Council it helped me to gain valuable life skills, including the ability to quickly adapt to different working environments and the skill to alter my communication skills depending on the type of person I was working with.
