From a very early age, my passion for supporting others through challenges has been a driving force in my life. As a child, I was always the first to lend a helping hand in my community, whenever I saw an opportunity. My personal journey exposed me to the deep inequities that exist in education and healthcare spaces and solidified my determination to effect meaningful change in systems that adversely impact historically underrepresented and marginalized groups. As a result, over the past 15 years, I have dedicated my career to working at the intersection of social work, education and community engagement, firmly believing that education and community engagement holds the power to foster a more equitable society. I am driven by the desire to ensure that every child has access to an excellent and equitable education and every community has access to equitable resources. Throughout the years, I have pursued various avenues to pursue this personal mission.These have included counseling youth who have endured significant trauma, assisting families in accessing healthcare resources for their children, teaching undergraduate courses, coaching educators to develop and maintain strong relationships with families, fostering connections among diverse education stakeholders through strategic partnerships, and recruiting undergraduate and graduate students as well as professionals for various programs. Each role I have undertaken has contributed to deepening my understanding of the education ecosystem and enhancing my ability to effect positive change within it.In my free time, I love spending time in nature and with family and friends. Building and nurturing relationships and communities is an important part of my personal and professional life, and I am committed to fostering the growth and well-being of each one.
