Growing up, I have always been fascinated by technology, from the way tech works, to how they're designed, I wanted to know it all! Having access to the internet from a young age allowed me to explore technology in ways I may not have understood then, and only boosted my curiosity in learning about technological advances. During high school, I discovered FIRST Robotics, which propelled my interest in electricity and electrical devices in particular. I began to learn about the wiring processes of robots and my interest became so strong that I jumped into an Electrical Circuits Dual-Credit course, which allowed me to explore electrical wiring in a beginner's residential lab. My experience in this Dual-Credit course is what made me decide to enroll in the Electrical Engineering Technician program at St. Lawrence College! As I am working while going to school I am completing my program in 3 years instead of 2 to ensure that I can balance the work and school loads during my program's duration. In my education so far I have learned AC and DC fundamentals, how to find rules in the CEC, design, wire, and install devices up to code, read and analyze technical drawings, understand P&IDs, and measure, control, and calibrate control processes. I am most interested in instrumentation and process control, so I would love to find a job related to instrumentation once I graduate! I'm also interested in furthering my education in the future by going into the Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technologist program at St. Lawrence College so that I can specialize in instrumentation and control processes.I have always loved working with people, and the needs and wants of others are valuable to me, so my experience in the restaurant/hospitality sector has allowed me to build my skills in communication and my ability to accommodate the needs and wants of others. In the three years that I have spent in this sector, I have been able to grow as a leader and become more knowledgeable about products, services, and accommodations we can provide, which in turn allows me to serve any clients to the best of my ability no matter the circumstances.
