Milton G. Wright, president emeritus of Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation (TG). His management of and vision for TG, a public, non-profit corporation, from March 1993 through September 2004, and TG's team members, have helped to establish TG as the fifth largest guarantor in the nation.Prior to coming to TG, Wright served as a Divisional Vice President for the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation from 1985 to early 1993. From 1978 to 1984, he was vice president and community reinvestment officer of Manufacturers Hanover Trust, a state-chartered bank in New York.Additionally, Wright served as vice president and director of community banking and operations at Freedom National Bank of New York, two years as vice president of Administration for the Midwest National Bank of Indianapolis, IN, and eight years with Manufacturers Hanover Trust, NYC, in retail banking.Wright has held membership and led several career-oriented organizations. He has served as president of the American Institute of Banking, New York Chapter, the Urban Bankers Coalition Of New York, and the National Association of Urban Bankers. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of Plan International USA, Incorporated. He served as a regional representative on the Board of Directors of the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs. Mr. Wright is a past chair of the Mapping Your Future, Board. He served as a member and past president of the National Association of Student Loan Administrators. Wright recently served on the board of Skillpoint Alliance, Austin, Texas; and on the Board of Visitors for Southwestern University, Georgetown, Texas. He served as treasurer, on the board for the College For All Texans Foundation, Austin, Texas. Wright obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics and Mathematics from the City University of New York-Hunter College. He also holds an advanced certificate from The American Institution of Banking, New York Chapter.
