My specific responsibilities include: • Conducting meetings with owners, architects/engineers, consultants, construction managers, design-builders, contractors, subcontractors, state and local officials to provide direction and policy interpretation. • Assisting owners in selecting project delivery method and leading the procurement of services through qualification based selection (QBS) and best value selection (BVS) processes. • Negotiating design and construction agreements and guaranteed maximum price (GMP) proposals. • Reviewing and approving design phase submissions for proper alignment of scope, quality, budget, and schedule. • Coordinating review of subcontractor prequalification criteria and providing oversight and assistance in the preparation and receipt of public bids. • Monitoring the progress of work by architects, criteria architects, owner agents, consultants, construction managers, design-builders, general contractors, and/or prime contractors and approving monthly payment applications. • Reviewing change order requests and aiding in the resolution of disputes and claims.In addition to my project specific responsibilities, I also support the commission by representing the commission at public meetings and supporting the development and implementation of best practices and process improvements for the effective and efficient administration of capital improvement projects.
