My name is Milton Lima and I have been working as a Science teacher and STEM Coordinator at STEM Early High School in Vance County, North Carolina since August 2018. I also work as Space Foundation Teacher Liaison and International Space Station Ambassador for this community. I am thrilled to work in a STEM school in the United States. I grew up and had my teaching experiences in Brazil and I am so grateful to have the best profession in the world. I have worked with all age levels in my career and I love going to work every day to see my students' faces when learning finally happens. I have learned that knowing how to communicate is also knowing how to listen. It looks difficult and it really is. But it is very beautiful. And passionate. I am a proud product of Brazilian education with a great experience in North America. I grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil and attended primary and secondary public school there. After graduating high school with an Associate Biochemistry Technician degree, I went to State University of Campinas where I received my bachelors degree in Biology and Education. Later, I moved to Toronto, Canada to receive a Certification in Biochemistry. After 2 years living in the United States I received my Masters degree in STEM Education from the American College of Education and now I have just started my Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in Science Education at Indiana University Bloomington. In addition, I am proud to have become a member of the US National Institute of STEM Education (NISE).
