If so, you are not alone, and I am here to help.I specialize in DBT, IFS or Parts work and EMDR therapy to help clients work through trauma, regulate their emotional distress, and incorporate mindfulness into their lives.My wife, Rochelle, and I are Licensed Clinical Health Counselors. We founded Roots Counseling in 2015. Our goal is to provide our clients the tools to truly create a life worth living.We fell in love with Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills (the basis of our skills groups) and we’ve seen the benefit they provide to us personally and as a couple. Because DBT has provided us with the skills to solve problems and improve our own lives, we love offering that knowledge to those we provide counseling and therapy, too. We love that in the DBT group model, we, as facilitators, are also group members and we apply the strategies and lessons learned to ourselves as well.We believe that through the structure we provide, one that combines group therapy, skills coaching, and individual therapy, clients can get to the root of their problem and heal from the inside out. As they learn these skills and begin to apply them, they will be able to see true healing, which will lead to personal growth, strengthening, and improvement both within themselves and in other aspects of their environment. My wife and I founded Roots Counseling in 2016 with focus and passion for helping individuals work through trauma and emotional dysfunction through individual/group counseling focusing on DBT and EMDR therapies. I help my clients get closer on a positive path towards growth, empowerment and well-being. My specialty areas include: Trauma, PTSD, Grief, Relationship Issues, Parenting Issues, and Child, Adolescent and Family Therapy. I believe that the relationship between the client and therapist is fundamental in successful psychotherapy. As such, I create a safe and trusting professional relationship with my clients, helping them figure out where they are, where they want to be, and what's impending them from change. My goal is to help my clients come into a place of greater understanding, self-compassion, and ultimately healing and personal growth.
