Milton MullingsConstruction Engineering Technician/Civil Engineering TechnologistI have been actively involved in the construction industry for over 13 yrs.I began my journey in construction with my dad who was a general contractor designing and building residential properties and also providing real time estimates and coordinating small projects.I assisted him in various capacities within the construction industry, for example making sure that their was adequate material present; and work was going according to plan. Furthermore I had to liaison with workers on a daily basis.However,i saw an opportunity to start my own business in plumbing. While working as a plumber I did several residential plumbing jobs and even small scale commercial properties. Even though I was working, I realised that to become more competent in my trade theory would be an important asset : So I went to Port-more National Training Agency where i did Pipe fitting and Plumbing, Upon completion I was awarded two certificate-level 1&2.The skill that i acquired, was very instrumental for me, which aided me greatly as a infrastructural plumber at Gores Development.During my two year tenure at gores, i installed all three major Utility pipes: water,storm and sanitary sewer.During this time i was an assistant supervisor with key responsibilities such as coordinating projects, ensuring safety was maintained, work was done on time and correctly also provided tools and material for labor.Finally,my love for building inspire me to pursue a more thorough knowledge of construction. Hence I went and took Construction Engineering Technician and Civil Engineering Technology which has help me today to become more diversify and competent.I have successfully completed these courses with honors, I'm now looking forward to make a significant contribution to the construction industry.
