Singapore Airlines is the flag carrier airline of Singapore and one of the world's premium airlines, with the distinction of operating a young and modern fleet.As a fleet lead, I identify components installed throughout the Singapore Airlines group B787 fleet that contribute to delays or experience poor reliability. Working together with the various manufacturers and ATA subject matter experts, we engage in discussions to determine the root cause and identify solutions.

My specific areas of responsibility are ATA 21, 26, 32, and 36 across the different Boeing and Airbus aircraft operated by the Singapore Airlines group. Determining the most efficient resolution to aircraft on ground situations is one of the cornerstones of my role. This requires resolving the issue with the least downtime and spares needed, thus minimizing the cost of the disruption.I am also part of the CAAS Part 21 Design Organization (AWI/DOA/005) Quality team in ensuring that the right organisational structure, procedures, competencies and resources are consistently fulfilled.

I am responsible for developing processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements are adhered as part of managing continuing airworthiness on behalf of our airline customers.My area of specialization also includes performing internal and external audits, while assisting in customer and regulatory audits. I focus on interpreting and communicating the importance of airworthiness requirements as they relate to aircraft operation and maintenance.My team and I also succeeded in setting up the CAAS Part 21 Design Organisation Approval (AWI/DOA/028) for the organization.

Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners, defense, space and security systems, and service provider of aftermarket support. Boeing Global Services is the company's newest business unit and offers services and support for airlines throughout the airplane’s entire life cycle.In this role, I performed audits in support of Boeing Global Services Quality Management System and Safety Management System. I also identified, supported and implemented systems, policies and procedures simplification as part of a continuous improvement push within the organization.I established positive customer working relationships with our various airline customers to ensure the the benefits that can be realized by efficient and effective application of appropriate airworthiness management responsibility and control.

In my role, I was responsible for the control and management of aircraft records in support of continuing airworthiness. As part of the digital initiative, our team conceptualized and integrated the use of digital aircraft records management to identify and analyse discrepancy trends reducing aircraft records errors.I successfully collaborated with the maintenance organization to reduce wait time availability of aircraft records and ensure that our airline customers' aircraft records remained compliant with regulatory requirements.

SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) provides extensive maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of aircraft to more than 80 international airlines worldwide. The Heavy Maintenance Division is involved in major aircraft structural inspection and/or repair; major modification on the aircraft, engine, and related systems; major aircraft defect rectification/component changes; amongst others. My main task was to plan and design prefabricated component holding labels to reduce operation costs and increase efficiency. The labels needed to survive the harsh working environment in the hangar, while ensuring that operational costs are kept low in the long term. I had the opportunity to co-develop a new system using Microsoft Access to organise information into a simple database for easy retrieval, maintenance, and expansion to minimise costs.

The internship was designed to impart essential knowledge and professional skills to succeed in the insurance industry and landscape. As an intern, I learnt to analyse and evaluate every client’s financial status to help them manage their personal finances and financial growth. I also learn how to provide professional financial advice, and suitable financial products and services to meet a prospective clients’ needs. My greatest takeaway was learning to be versatile and highly adaptable. The people I met varied every day and I had to learn quickly to be effective. The different people I meet were each a new learning experience.
