Managed the daily functions of the organization, which included finances, employee issues, public relations and fund raising. Oversaw the JTPA program, HIV/AIDS program, Housing Services, Senior Citizens group and Culture program. I also monitored federal, state and city/county grants. Coordinated all departments’ growth and development to better service the communities needs. The organization had a budget in excess of $1,000,000, 400+ members and 19 full time employees.

Baltimore, Maryland Area

Oversaw the publishing of The Business Resource Guide. The Guide is a 96 page book on how to successfully start and operate a business in the State of Maryland. The Guide is distributed to business owners annually through a wide distribution channel consisting of various government agencies, the Circuit Courts, Chambers of Commerce, colleges and universities. Over 20,000 Guides are distributed annually. I developed the strategic plans for reaching the advertising sales projections. Some of the other functions I handled were the marketing, managing and training of direct sales staff and telemarketers.

Oversaw the daily functions, which included marketing, finances, employee issues, public relations and fund raising. Coordinated all monthly seminars, planned and facilitated an annual Expo which drew over 2000 people to a one day event. Part of the public relations for the company involved writing columns for local business papers and hosting a weekly television show. Met regularly with corporate sponsors to secure funding for the association
