Legacy desktop and mainframe systems that support more than 3.5 billion clinical assessments per month across 60+ federal and state agencies and hundreds of thousands of health service providers, were replaced by a greenfield web-based system that follows SAFe, User Center Design principles, and the Digital Services Playbook. The new system is AWS based and API/Open Source/Microservices First. Mr. Valenzuela headed the program organization (130+ people), defining processes and supervising the work of a team of four product managers and fourteen cross-functional scrum teams. The organization was composed of user researchers, UI designers, content strategists, business analysts, architects, developers, data engineers, security, DevOps, and quality experts.
