For over a decade, Mimi has practiced architecture and the intersection of art and design. Her process and methodology is rooted in the synthesis of explorative design, technical rigor, and fine art. Ambitious from the onset, while working at Herbert Louis Kruse Blunck, Mimi simultaneously operated Studio M – dedicated to the design and craft of metalwork – keeping her immersed in art and craft while honing her architectural design direction. As a senior designer and associate vice president of the widely lauded Yazdani Studio of Cannon Design, Mimi has contributed significantly to the design and development of award-winning projects ranging from the Museum of Tolerance, Jerusalem to the University of California, San Diego Jacobs. The breadth of her experience transcends typologies – ranging from the public Des Moines Library to the international Ordos Concert Hall in Inner Mongolia – from the complex Global Vascular Institute to the design of the Anne Frank Exhibit at the Museum of Tolerance, Los Angeles. Mimi continues to blur the lines of art and design by participating on behalf of the Yazdani Studio on various sculptural pieces for the A+D Museum in Los Angeles. She is an associate member of the AIA Los Angeles chapter and a LEED-accredited professional, and a member of the US Green Building Council. Mimi holds a Bachelors of Architecture from Iowa State University.
