A seasoned Chartered Electrical Engineer with over 11 years of expertise in the field of Electrical Engineering coupled with an additional 4 years of experience in Human Resource Management within the Electricity Utility sector in a senior managerial level and possess a unique blend of technical and management skills significant to the growth and efficiency of any organization in the energy sector. At present I am holding the post of Chief Electrical Engineer (Distribution Maintenance) Central Province 2 of Ceylon Electricity Board and responsible for overseeing medium voltage (33kV) maintenance and rehabilitation works of network exceeding 2000km, preparing and executing maintenance plans, managing contracts, ensuring proper material management, monitoring and controlling maintenance activities within set targets, and effectively coordinating with all stakeholders while executing special projects which demonstrate my abilities to handle complex tasks and manage resources efficiently. During my tenure as Chief Engineer (Policy) at the Ceylon Electricity Board, I held a unique senior managerial position responsible for creating and updating personnel policies, managing personnel planning, revising employee salaries, issuing circulars, providing clarifications, handling employee grievances, organizing HR policy committee meetings, maintaining job descriptions and seniority lists of senior executives, overseeing human resource development planning, disciplinary management, and handling legal and external affairs showcasing my expertise as a successful human resource manager as well. Further, my experiences encompass a wide range of skills and responsibilities within the electricity utility sector focused on improving low voltage and medium voltage system reliability, safety, managing vegetation, proper maintenance of low voltage lines and transformers, providing retail service connections, handling metering billing and customer relationship management. Additionally, I have experience in system planning, energy management, implementing Automated Metering Systems, and utilizing various energy measurement systems. My expertise also extends in the areas of revenue protection, loss reduction, distribution system earthing, construction standards, tendering, procurement, maintaining Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), productivity improvement, public communication, and leadership. These diverse experiences demonstrate my adaptability and proficiency in managing various aspects of the electricity industry.
