HER (Health. Equity. Respect.) is a youth-led non-profit organisation promoting menstrual equity by providing period products, education, healthcare, and employment to underserved women. As a Chapter Lead, I help lead distribution events in my community to improve access to menstrual products for women who lack access to menstrual products while hosting workshops that aim to destigmatise the discussion of periods and reproductive health. H.E.R employs former inmates to sew reusable pads to help them earn sustainable income, which in turn helps to assist reintegration and reduce recidivism rates.Some NGOs HER has partnered with include: UN Women, Plan Int’l, Amnesty Int’l, Brooklyn Library’s Cycle Alliance, The Pad Project, Freedom Restoration Project, Asia Center Foundation, and Labor Protection Network.
