Mina Ebrahimi Email and Phone Number
I specialize in semiconductor research with a focus on optimizing energy band engineering to boost productivity. During my master's, I explored the correlation between semiconductor properties and the corrosion resistance of duplex steel 2205. In my doctoral research, I am dedicated to enhancing the photoelectrochemical activity of TiO2 nanotubes (TNTs) by depositing various nanoparticles. Using an electrochemical anodizing technique, I fabricated TNTs and applied chemical bath deposition for nanoparticle deposition. This approach aims to improve the photoelectrochemical cathodic protection and delayed cathodic protection of AISI304 stainless steel, particularly in marine environments. Our study highlights significant synergies among nanoparticles, leading to substantial gains in photocurrent response, stability, and efficiency of cathodic protection. These enhancements stem from improved light absorption, reduced electron-hole recombination, and enhanced charge separation within TNTs.Furthermore, we investigate the mechanisms underlying these improvements by analyzing and engineering semiconductor energy bands at heterojunction interfaces. This in-depth exploration offers valuable insights into nanoscale modifications that enhance the corrosion resistance and durability of stainless steel in aggressive marine conditions.I invite professionals to consider integrating our findings into industrial practices to enhance material longevity and efficiency in marine settings. Additionally, we advocate further research into alternative nanoparticles and methodologies to advance the photoelectrochemical properties of TiO2 nanotubes. How might these innovative approaches be adapted to advance your own research or practical applications?Currently, I apply my expertise in the oil and gas industry as a senior corrosion engineer, where I strive to ensure the integrity and longevity of infrastructure. I am particularly interested in exploring how new and green energies can complement conventional energy sources. My background in semiconductor research equips me to innovate and advocate for sustainable solutions that enhance the resilience and efficiency of energy systems.
