Founded in 2016, Mina Bilkis started off as a tutoring and language instruction service to expatriate members of Freetown. From 2016-2021, Yasmine rendered these services to American International School of Freetown (AISF), YAS Learning Center, Brighter Beginnings (specializing in special needs) etc as well as training and tutoring staff at International and National NGOs in French, English and Krio. During this time Yasmine also offered interpretation and translation services to these institutions, namely: Irish Aid, GIZ Sierra Leone, COOPI etc.

In the 2023 Chevening Africa Media Freedom Fellowship (CAMFF), 12 fellows from 9 countries (Burundi, Malawi, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone) are selected to study at the University of Westminster to explore this year’s theme “Media Freedom in the UK and Africa in the age of misinformation” for 8 weeks through lectures, group discussions, talks by guest speakers, field trips and visits and individual and collective project work.
