✰ Out of university, I joined a start-up Internet Service provider (ISP) and in a year grew into a major player. I was hired to provide technical support for users, but I found websites development an in demand and growing niche so I went and learned all I could about and reached out to my boss and we started to create websites to our clients.✰ With the experience I accumulated thus far, I went to take on a new challenge as a Network Engineer for a real-time stock markets and money markets data distribution firm, where I managed Wide Area Networks (WANs) to Banks, and Brokerage firms. It was amazing and an eye opening experience to see firsthand how real-time data can revolutionize a whole industry and change the way they do business.✰ I then joined a multi-billion dollars Steel manufacturer as a system engineer to manage a well diverse systems, multiple network segments and infrastructure planning, design and maintenance. While in that role I noticed that end users were using dummy terminals that are very cumbersome for data entry on the AS/400 systems, at that time web applications were at their infancy stages. I was able to put a web application together that is able to connect and manipulate the data in the DB/2 database which provided a user friendly interface and higher capabilities than the terminals.✰ While working for a managed service provider (MSP), By now I’m sure you guessed it, I have found a gap to fill and tinkered with some code … very predictable I know :) . Generating quotations to our clients, was done by shuffling several spreadsheet, and getting contact information from the CRM system then copy everything to a word document to convert it to a PDF, which didn't provide the professional image that was expected. I have developed a database driven web application with ASP that had all the contact information, automatically calculate margins and generate a quote in a PDF format.✰ My “AHA…” Moment … Let’s get in touch, I’ll tell you more!
