As a mentor at DevNation, I use my Mechanical Engineering and Professional Engineering credentials to empower aspiring coders, leaders, and engineers from underrepresented groups in tech. I have been mentoring and volunteering with DevNation since June 2022, and I joined them full-time in July 2022 as part of the Techstars cohort.Before becoming a mentor, I worked as a forensic engineer at Alpine Intel, where I investigated mechanical failures and verified engineering concepts on-site. I also have five years of design engineering experience at Jones*DBR, Jones Engineers L.P., and Houston Airport System, where I gained a holistic view of systems from a consultant perspective and an owner's perspective, respectively.Additionally, as one of ADTinc's workers, I directed efforts to improve STEM educational methods by designing nine innovative 2017 Technology Camp activities. I also have a strong background in optimization methods, which I applied to my thesis project at the University of Houston, where I won the Outstanding Thesis Award. Additionally, I have served as a vice president of Pi Tau Sigma, a mechanical engineering honor society. My mission is to provide opportunities for the underprivileged to strengthen their technical skills and verify and validate dynamic facts with physical observation and measurement.
