Industrial Waste: Investigator Inspector Sampler
CurrentConducts inspections of commercial and industrial entities determining the nature of their discharge process, evaluates and approve pretreatment systems, and determines compliance with pretreatment regulations. Inspects industrial and commercial discharges. Maintains records of inspections and correspondence.Participates in evaluating and monitoring industrial discharges and analytical data. Plans, executes, documents and reports on industrial waste sampling and other field measurements in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.Participates in establishing compliance schedules and other enforcement actions.Identifies, responds and to investigate violations, complaints, spills and emergencies. Conducts inspections, rain event inspections, stormwater discharge/turbidity monitoring, collecting samples of wastewater, surveillance Knowledge of federal, state and local environmental regulations.Knowledge of hazardous waste handling, pollution prevention and chemical storage requirements.Knowledge of safety hazards associated with sampling, industrial inspections and wastewater treatment and conveyance systems.Knowledge of statistics, chemistry, biology and mathematics.Environmental monitoring; including sample collection, handling, analysis, interpretation and documentation.Knowledge of impacts of pollutants to water quality and wastewater treatment.Interprets maps, graphs and plans.Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and in person.Skills in setting priorities and managing workload with multiple competing prioritiesDemonstrated skill in using independent judgment and reasoning.Skilled in dealing effectively with groups and individuals in difficult circumstances.Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with coworkers and customers.Excellent communication skills to interact with industry representatives, government officials, and the publicPassion for environmental protection
