Director Of Recreation Services
CurrentResponsible for the creation, planning, budgeting, expenditures, supervision, and implementation of year-round recreational programming/activities for seniors, adults, youth, and preschool in an organized and efficient manner. Programming includes but is not limited to natural history and environmental education programs, arts and crafts, fitness/wellness programs, social events, and special interest classes.Develop program goals and objectives to meet Parks Master Plan, needs determined by Program Study, and community needs.Collaborate with Superintendent to develop and oversee the department’s community related programs and events. Collaborate with Superintendent to develop and market programs, special events, promotional offers, and community outreach programs. Collaborate with Superintendent to prepare, manage, and oversee Nature Center and Programming budgets.Hires, trains, schedules, and manages staff to facilitate programs, events, and operations.Prepare evaluations to assist with further development of programs, events, activities, promotional incentives, and visitor activity. Provides professional recommendations to Superintendent; make presentations to supervisors, boards, commissions, civic groups and the general public.Assures compliance with established policies and procedures for staff, members and guests.Develop and facilitate volunteer programs. Oversee the creation of the parks newsletter, program guide, advertisements and communications concerning programming and special events. Responsible for public relations duties regarding business and nonprofit advertising and sponsorship programs.Prepares a variety of reports and maintains necessary operating records.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and serve as liaison to youth leagues, groups, other agencies, and the public.
