As the pandemic halted all international travel, I was asked to return to Visit Savannah after a furlough to assist with lead generation for our convention sales team. This was a temporary position assisting with the UWCE's 2020 fundraising campaign. I was responsible for all aspects of raising funds within Savannah's extensive hospitality community. In this role I made numerous in-person presentations to businesses both large and small, sharing information on United Way programs and encouraging donations. My efforts lead to securing a target list of over 600 businesses. I worked closely with the UWCE's marketing team to develop fundraising strategies specifically designed for the industry, including program details, social media exposure, and corresponding collateral creation. Among the initiatives created were "Dining for Dollars" and a "United Way Challenge" between restaurants, bars, etc. I ultimately exceeded my goal raising of $20,000 in a 90 day period.
