Responsible for Corporate R&D - Guangzhou Site.

- Led the System Team and provided technical guidance, training and support to system design, simulations as well as algorithm supports for LTE Access, Core Networks and WLAN product lines.- Led the Standards Team in standardization projects through co-authoring, reviewing and submission of 400+ 3GPP LTE/LTE-A technical contributions, and coordination of collaborations with industrial members, helping the company achieve significant breakthroughs in 3GPP standardization.- Led the Research Team on design of proprietary technologies and IPR applications in CA, CoMP, TDD eIMTA, HetNet/HeNB Mobility, etc. for LTE-A networks, and was responsible for product evolution roadmap strategies.- Served as key reviewer for core project deliverables and Chair of Patent Committee of Guangzhou R&D centre.- Project Lead of the Strategic New Industrial Development Project of the Guangdong Province, “Next-generation Mobile Communication Base Stations R&D and Industrialization” with a budget of 8m RMB (US$ 1.3m) during 2011-2013.- Corporate representative in key marketing-related businesses for premium customers such as Deutsche Telekom, China Telecom, etc.

- Led GDNT’s advanced PHY/MAC research and collaborated with Nortel’s global 4G research/standardization teams on developing proprietary wireless technologies, and also served as member of GDNT System Design Innovation Review Committee.- As a key reviewer of project deliverables and system design documents, provided technical analyses and recommendations for product design, standardization contributions as well as RFPs, and accomplished 19 international projects for Nortel’s global customers including tier-one operators such as Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile, KDDI, etc.- Planned 3GPP LTE simulation team projects upon 4G system requirements, and acted as the point of contact interacting with multiple functional teams for handling internal and external simulation requests and issues.- Led and drove 4G simulation platform development, including simulators’ architecture, functions, libraries, algorithms and performance specifications.- Mentored and trained the 4G Simulation Team in various technical domains.- Represented GDNT in certain industrial and academic events, e.g. the IEEE International Conference on Communication Systems (IEEE ICCS ’08).

- Worked on advanced mobile communication systems, algorithms, simulations, and performance analyses, with sophisticated experience in MIMO, OFDM(A), SDMA, channel estimation, space-time/frequency coding (including linear dispersion codes), multi-user detection, iterative receivers, diversity and multiplexing techniques, etc.- Task Leader of EU FP7 DAVINCI R&D project (8 organisations, 2008-2010) and participant of EU FP6 WINNER-II research project (42 organisations, 2006-2007).- Samsung’s representative for the Mobile VCE Core 4 Research Programme (25 organisations, 2006-2008) and Industrial Mentor for UK Ph.D. students; responsible for Samsung/CTTC collaboration projects and mentored on-site Ph.D. internship students.- Participated in designing Samsung’s 4G MIMO transmission technologies and actively contributed to 4G WiMAX (IEEE802.16m) international standard for helping Samsung secure its leading position in developing next-generation wireless systems.- Main developer of Samsung UK’s WiMAX transceiver simulation platform supporting Samsung’s global R&D and international projects.

- Participated in the MVCE Core 3 Research Project on diverse topics, e.g. adaptive data search and optimisation, joint signal estimation and detection, frequency-hopping, MIMO, OFDM, etc.- Outstanding research results were well received by collaborating companies, e.g. Nokia, Nortel, Philips, Samsung, etc.
