Lead the research and development for silver powder suitable for solar cell front side silver paste as the team leader. Developed synthetic routes for silver powders for which the key technical parameters rival those famous products worldwide (for example, our products have performance that match those of Dowa Company) since the beginning of 2018. In the meantime, silver nanoparticles/nanwires are under development, which may find their applications in such fields as pharmaceutics, biomedicines, display materials, to name a few. Developing producing techniques for metal/metal alloy powders via spray pyrolysis method, which is potential for scalable production of 3D printing metal materials.

Explored the optimum experimental condition to synthesize monodispersed gold nanoparticles with fine size control in the range of 1-10 nm. With the gold nanoparticles part as the premonitory research, the techniques of fine size control will be applied to synthesize other core@Au functional nano-materials. Currently we have successfully synthesized and characterized Gd@Au nanospheres and nanorods, and their performance as MRI contrast agents surpassed those of regular Gd(III) based ones. The development of rare earth-cobalt permanent nanomagnetics is in progress.
