Based on the technical specification of the vehicle type to be approved, I review the information in order to select the tests that need to be carried out and the variants/versions of the type to be tested.Responsibilities include: - Providing support for worst-case and variant selections for manufacturers. - Performing or overseeing compliance tests according to EC, UNECE, NTA, CEN / BS EN 1789, and various technical standards for all vehicle types, both on-site at manufacturers' facilities and laboratories in the UK and abroad. - Effectively managing and finalising approval documentation for each test or assessment, including technical information verification, creation of test reports, and drafting approval certificates. - Addressing inquiries from manufacturers, agencies, and stakeholders. - Cultivating and continuously updating expertise in technical matters. - Engaging in customer interactions concerning UNECE Regulation 155 and 156, Cyber Security & Software Updates, with the primary objective to assess and audit management systems, ultimately leading to type approval in alignment with ISO/SAE 21434:2021 Road vehicles - Cybersecurity Engineering.VCA plays a pivotal role in certifying vehicles, systems, and components for compliance with European and UNECE environmental, safety, and security standards. We engage early in vehicle design, collaborating with manufacturers to ensure products meet rigorous testing and legislative requirements. Our engineers are recognized as domain specialists.
