Led improvements to the system to reduce complexity, including significant program to inform sites and gain buy in. • Implemented and managed the Newcrest Enterprise Risk Management system, including integrating the enterprise risk management processes into the business planning processes, and receiving positive feedback from the Board of Directors on the quality and consistency of Newcrest’s Enterprise Risk Management system in comparison to peers.• Managed Newcrest’s application process and successful membership of the Extractive Industries’ Transparency Initiative (EITI), and the Voluntary Principles for Security and Human Rights (VPSHR). Achieved the Board of Directors’ objectives for achieving membership of these initiatives, including managing development of the due diligence and training systems required to support these commitments.

Strategic Planning coordinator, responsible for developing and analysing medium and long term mine plans for all the Illawarra Coal underground mines (four). Project work included developing production models for evaluation of $30mil mine expansion project. Role also included coordination and quasi-management of four mine planning engineers (one at each mine site).

Managing the startup and operation of two underground coal development production units operating 24/7. Tasks included employing supervisors and operators from scratch, developing systems, training and inducting the teams, and managing the day-to-day and strategic directions of the production operations.

Roles during my time at Kestrel (all under the Senior Mining Engineer banner) included:- Outbye crew supervisor- Acting Senior Compliance and Ventilation Engineer- Control Room coordinator, supervising seven control room operators working 24/7- Project controller for mine relocation to new mining area- Management of short term planning and weekly planning for all functions on site- Development of annual budget plans and reforecasts- Development of life of mine plans and options evaluation- Development of a Physicals Reconciliation System to compare actual quantities mined against those predicted by mine models (XPac)
