Grew company from a small client roster to a robust firm with numerous major corporate clients, including Arizona State University, Fresh Gourmet To Go franchise, Carnegie First Lending Services, Ryerson Company, Robson Communities and IDR Collections. Focused on brand management and marketing communications while providing consulting expertise in the areas of new product/service launches, public awareness campaigns, sales, and employee productivity.• Managed various creative teams from 2 – 5 employees at any given time.• Responsible for increasing student enrollment at the ASU West’s School Global Management and Leadership campus by 16%.• Direction Design Group’s (DDG) efforts contributed to the Sanctuary Resort being recognized as the top 10 new resorts and Voted the Worlds Best Places to Stay.• The Ryerson Companies new Cottages Project, witnessed the largest increase in home sales and overall interest in Sun City West since DDG’s campaign launch in 2005.

Directed client relations and marketing solutions for a vast number of notable clientele such as; Sanctuary at Camelback Mountain, Elements Restaurant, Maracay Homes, Motorola and Arizona Department of Commerce.• Successfully increased traffic at all Maracay communities over a 5-year period through community specific creative marketing campaigns• Directed the country’s top TV commercial of 2000, as awarded by the National Home Builders Association• Led Maracay Homes to three back to back Grand Mame awards from 2000 –2003–this accomplishment has never been achieved by any homebuilder• Escrow closings have increased an average of 112% since the Maracay Homes/Flex Design campaign inception in 1998• During my time as Art Director with the Arizona Department of Commerce 65 companies moved to Arizona or expanded within the state for a total economic impact of more than $15,000,000 is salaries in 1998.

Phoenix, Arizona Area

The new 120,000, square foot Antoine Precook-designed Arizona Center broke ground in 1995 and Grand Opened in 1997 with over 350 permeant hands-on exhibits. The Center is able to provide their 400,000 annual visitors with interactive experiences. Michael was part of the initial development stages before the building was completed and Grand Opened to the public. Michael developed the in-house graphics department and assisted in the hiring of the key staff that would support all visual communication efforts such as and not limited to; kiosk signage and communications, way finding, artist and photography projects, original murals and logo mark development for all the independent identities of each exhibit hall on multiple floors of the Center. In addition, the Graphics team supported the creative needs of the in-house programs, marketing and development departments. Michael's legacy was the design of the written communication system at each hands-on kiosk for the visitor to learn, understand and experience the science at hand.
