Minna Parikka is an internationally acclaimed shoe designer and also a brand, whose innovative designs have graced the feet of women all around the world, including Cara Delevingne, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, nine of the Kardashians and Jenners.The Helsinki-based brand’s collections have been stocked by many luxury stores such as Selfridges, Harrods, Liberty, Harvey Nichols, Net-a-Porter, Isetan, Level, Lane Crawford, Le Bon Marche, Colette, Corso Como 10, Luisa Via Roma, and approximately 100 other stores and boutiques all around the world.Minna has become a much-loved media personality in Finland. She has been a guest judge for the Finnish Project Runway and Finland’s Next Top Model and has taken part in the Finnish Dancing with Stars, as a competitor. She even co-hosted a reality TV crafts competition, Making It Finland.In March 2023, an exciting collaboration was launched when Reima x Minna Parikka Children's Capsule Collection hit Reima's global points of sale. This collection, which also includes clothing and accessories, is based on a playful shoe collection, around which a whole visual universe has been created by Minna. A universe, which encompasses, not just the products, but everything from the style of photography to marketing.Besides designing, I also excel in creating a story around the product. Branding, art direction and working in collaboration with the marketing team are my strengths. I also understand the role that saleability and functionality must play in the process of creating a successful product.Running my own brand has taught me so much in the past 17 years. I have a full understanding of the international fashion business as whole, from design to end consumer.I have worked with global media and luxury level retailers in sales, designing exclusive products and creating in-store pop-up displays to some of the world’s leading retailers like Selfridges, Harrods, Level Dubai and Galleries Lafayette Berlin.Currently, I am in the process of having a house built that I have designed for my daughter and me. And it is not just any house, it is a modern, wooden cross-laminated timber house in pink with jumbo-sized gingerbread edging. In this project, my vast experience in project management and design have proved vital.In the future I wish to continue working in a sustainable, luxury level environment as a designer, creating desirable products in a highly inspiring and equal environment. I wish to be part of a high functioning team and support it not just in design but also in creating the story around the products.
