My current position as B2B customer service consultant certainly has challenged me in many new ways and it definitely has been a learning journey so far, and there seems to be no end, which I love. It has improved my confidence in conflict situation to solve issues effectively while still maintaining good customer relations and satisfaction. I also value my coworkers which is reflected in the fact that I was also encouraged to take on the posts of Occupational Safety and Health representative and shop steward to represent our customer service team. However, I still wish to find a job in an international environment where I can utilize my past work experiences and educational background.I entered in Helsinki University as a mathematics major in 2011, but after few years I realized mathematics was not my passion. I decided to try through minor studies, if Asian Studies would fit me better as I have always been interested in other cultures, especially in Asian cultures. I chose Korea as my specialization field, and after finishing my BS degree I left to South Korea for an exchange year. While I was in Korea, I applied for new Area and Culture Studies MA program, and started in this program in 2017. In my MA studies specialized in Asian Studies with the focus on Korean and East Asian Cultures. I became familiar with theories and methods related to mediatization, social media, and ethnographical research for example. I graduated in January 2020. Working alongside my studies has blessed me with great time management skills to maintain a healthy balance with my studies, work and social life.Learning about other cultures and new languages has been close to my heart ever since I was a child. Hence, mastering Korean has become important to me, and to do to that I try to use it whenever I can - for example, I write my Instagram posts in Korean.To many people´s surprise I have learned taekwondo as a hobby before. It also inspired me in my Master's Thesis - topic being "Taekwondo in Finland". In my thesis I have tried to stress the philosophy and cultural values of martial arts instead of focusing on the physical side of the sport. For me it has been an important hobby through which I can both develop myself physically and mentally. And furthermore, the learning process is never-ending - there is always room for improvement.In addition to this, I have always been into creative arts such as dancing, drawing, and handicrafts. I even used to act in a local amateur theater, which I believe contributed to my confidence in public performing/speaking.
