Porvoo had two refugee reception units, family unit (130 places) and minor unit (40 places). I was responsible for the operational activities, management and coordinating employees. All together there were 28 full time employees. The work also involved co-operation with authorities and other stakeholders. I handled centre’s demanding shutdown by supporting employees’ motivation and well-being.

My job included recruiting staff together with the assistant manager, making salary decisions and staff training. I was also a contact person for occupational health care. On behalf of the financial administration, I was responsible for the invoicing of the purchase invoices, budgeting together with the assistant manager. My job also included other general office tasks.

I had two of my own projects, the reform of the cashier system in the parishes and the reform of the travel administration along the transfer of the credit card purchases to M2, a travel and expense application. This included doing a handbook and training the end users. I was also a head user of M2 application. With the cashier system I had competitive bidding along the rules of public administration. I oversaw the implementation, trained the cashiers and was also the main user for the cashier system.

I was in charge of booking all business travels for R&D department. I also booked and organised meeting facilities internally and externally. I had other office tasks as well, such as office utensils, departments company presents, ordering standards and keeping them up to date etc.

I was also the expert on the online booking tool for customers.As a team leader my duties were to see that work got done smoothly, supporting the team and I also did the work shifts.
