Profile bio

About Minnar Xie

I'm a service designer, design researcher, and visual artist focused on how we can recreate systems and processes to foster dignity, meaningful participation, and equitable access.I have always traversed in-between spaces. Some of my strengths are weaving visual communication and social science research, and bridging understanding between disciplines and approaches. Throughout my career I have focused on applying human-centered design for social impact, and predominantly with the public sector. I've worked in consulting, at an early stage start-up, and in program evaluation. I'm fascinated by how organizational structures and roles shape how work moves forward.I believe decision-making should be guided by a deep understanding of lived experience: of the people who experience the thing, and the people who deliver the thing. I get energy from helping leaders re-frame the challenge at hand, talking to the people for whom this impacts, and figuring out how to operationalise solutions across relationships and implementation. I have deep empathy for anyone who wants things to be different and better, and are willing to be humbled and try something new. In my downtime, you can find me making pottery, drawing, or on my bike.

Listed skills include Adobe Creative Suite, Ethnography, User Research, Service Design, and 17 others.
