In my corporate work, my colleagues called me the People Doctor. I loved that nickname, as my gift for sensing people issues surfaced early in my career as a systems engineer on Wall Street: I told my boss about the tension I observed between 2 groups which led to a restructuring of the unit! Eventually I ended up leaving IT/Operations to join Organizational Development and Learning, Change and Innovation. When I reflect back on my experiences- working with C-suite leaders and their teams/staff on large-scale business transformations- the golden thread has always been to empathize at all levels and bring multiple perspectives together; leverage cultural and other differences for innovation; and include, engage and work with people that unleashes their natural energy and creativity….it is all about building new people practices and designing a support structure for the change! Now I blog about social change and global transformation at www.sufidialogue.com, and enjoy writing, coaching, speaking and facilitating. I work with non-profits that are engaged in women and girls development and interfaith dialogue, and run a peacebuilding dialogue series for the Global Dialogue Collective, which I co-founded. I follow the Quantum Sciences avidly as I develop myself spiritually, and see the convergence between science and spirituality. It is my dream and hope that we build better societies that practice "insaniyet", humanism in Urdu.
