•Senior investment team member reporting directly to the Deputy CIO of the city’s ~$3.5B civilian pension fund. Responsibilities include: asset allocation review, analysis and monitoring; investment policy review and monitoring; investment manager hiring and monitoring; and communicating investment performance to the 7-member Board.•Perform due diligence and analysis on investment opportunities, investment strategies, and potential new fund initiatives. Assisted in fulfilling new fund mandates in Credit Opportunities and Small Cap Growth Equity.•Participate in industry conferences and management meetings and evaluate current and potential investment managers to determine fit with fund’s investment strategy. Assist with Next Generation searches and events.

• Conduct research and develop models to create a thesis on securities within the software, IT services, cruise line, gaming, lodging, leisure, restaurant, toy, and theme parks industries as a member of the central research department supporting various portfolio teams. Convey viewpoints through firm-wide research notes and discussions with portfolio managers.• Conduct extensive research on companies utilizing a bottom-up approach. This includes conducting channel checks, meeting with company management, attending industry conferences/investor events and performing competitor analysis to form a differentiated investment view of stocks.• Develop and maintain financial models and prepare presentations on covered industries.

• Responsible for developing and testing various investment theses in industries that the India Investment Fund (IIF) targets in order to advise the funds portfolio managers.

• Conducted quantitative analysis, database stratification techniques and cash flow modeling for the issuance of new asset backed debt securities. • Worked with rating agencies, bond insurers, and investment banks and performed financial scenario optimization to enhance asset-backed securities offering and structuring for investors.

• Member of CFO’s core team responsible for analyzing historical and current profitability data to build more accurate internal financial forecasts. • Created Excel based models detailing the company’s financial status for presentation to the Board of Directors.

• Managed private placement portfolio consisting of 15 companies in various industries and assessed investment opportunities utilizing various methods including comparable company and risk analysis.• Arranged private placement memoranda including a $50 million, sr. debt financing memo for a large engineering firm.
