Team Leader in Vaisala's Research and Technology, Weather and Environment
I conducted research towards my PhD degree. The main focus was on topics related to environmental conditions affecting renewable energy production specially in the Finnish archipelago area and Finnish coastline. I investigated low-level jets, aerosols and clouds by using state-of-the-art meteorological observations and weather models. I used my knowledge.
I worked in Vaisala's renewable energy measurement team and sensing technologies research team with different research tasks related to meteorological observations beneficial for renewable energy sector. My focus was on different measurement techniques and systems used in wind and solar energy industry, assistance with meteorology-related questions, and.
I was enrolled in Vaisala’s Giant Leap Internship program. The project I worked with was related to runway surface conditions and the main task was to try to enhance the runway surface observations by algorithm development.
I was working on my MSc thesis, the topic of which was ”Low-level jets in the NorthernHemisphere polar regions”. I created a climatologicy of low-level jet characteristics basedon Arctic System Reanalysis dataset.
I started to work on my M.Sc. thesis topic and developed skills in analysing reanalysis datasets. My work also included other tasks such as helping with the arrangements of the ECSS (European Conference on Severe Storms) arranged in Helsinki in June 2013.
