I'm a legal practitioner from Sri Lanka with a keen interest in arbitration and artificial intelligence (AI). I have over three years of experience in the legal field, wearing many hats (cloaks?) — as a junior counsel, judicial researcher, legal apprentice, and legal intern. Currently, I've put on a new hat as an academic while pursuing my LLM at QMUL, focusing on Investment and Commercial Arbitration. As part of my LLM, I am working on a TradeLab project that concentrates on investment law with a foreign beneficiary. My academic pursuits are primarily aimed at investment and commercial arbitration, specialising in the energy sector. I aim to eventually integrate these areas into my professional practice. I occasionally find myself captivated by the diverse ideas within this field, the latest of which is the role of arbitration in the energy transition and climate change disputes. Apart from my role as a dispute resolution lawyer, I have worked with AI and game development clients to pursue my interest in technology. I firmly believe in the transformative impact AI will have on the legal profession and am enthusiastic about exploring this further.
