Ms. Gillet M.Ed. is a member of ASEE (Engineering Ed) and the HAI (Artificial Intelligence) community at Stanford. Her award winning students have achieved the following: awards in art contests, national publications, presentation at Stanford’s Fabrication Lab at CERAS-Center for Ed Research, invited to the Lemelson-MIT National Invention Convention 4 times, two Merit Awards for the CA InCon/ Tech Challenge from 1st to 9th grade, and a ROV exhibit at Makerfaire with MATE in San Mateo. Her quotes have been published in The New York Times, Stanford Magazine, San Mateo Daily Journal, Stanford Daily, and several other news outlets.Her former positions include Reading Specialist, Director of Design Thinking through Workshop on the Peninsula, and a robotics and tech advisor in competitions with team awards to support engineering of structures which assist in the mental and physical health of people for others. She has led design thinking workshops for visiting scholars to Silicon Valley. Her thesis for her M.Ed. capstone through WGU covered using design thinking in an interdisciplinary curriculum. She authored a chapter in FWN 1st Disrupt book to help launch the series, received recognition on Stanford’s d.school on Twitter, and was given the title PBS Digital Innovator for Learning Media for inspiring others. She is certified in Advanced Project Management by Stanford, has 90 quarter units from Stanford Continuing Medicine Ed, has a Data Science Certificate through Stanford, participated in the National Institute of Health biotech training program symposium 2023, and SIEPR for an Economics Design Contest. She was a contender for an award from Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. Her favorite compliment was when David Kelley, a founder of the d.school and one of America's leading design innovators, called her “clever”. She is working on making National Design Thinking Week recognized officially. She is the author of the first MOOC on peace and the founder of Peace Game Online which was voted the best learning game in Stanford’s DNLE MOOC by Dr. Paul Kim, CTO and Assistant Dean of the Grad School of Ed. She is recognized as a “100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World” (Global FWN100) for online learning, and mentioned in MIT’s innovation contest- Reclaim Open Learning through the MIT Media.
