I was active in BESIX Engineering’s Sustainability Department, setting out its strategy, offering project support and embedding sustainability in the organisation.

As a Bid Manager I worked on proposals for several international projects (Douala Airport, Hôpital d'Instruction Yaoundé, Hôpital d'Instruction des Armées Ouagadougou, …), after which my focus turned to Design & Build and ECI tenders. For the new offices of the Vlaamse Overheid I participated in a bouwteam on the renovation of the WTC I & II towers with a focus on circular construction. For the new headquarters of NMBS/SNCB I worked in a D&B team on the winning proposal with a main focus on circularity and environmental performance.

The core business of Group Sportoase is the Operation of leisure centres with a focus on swimming pools. As a Project Manager for Business Development I work on the calls for tender for the Design, Build, Finance, Maintain and Operate of swimming pools projects: initial offer, study phase and contracting.Our team consists of independent designers and consultants and of our shareholder–contractors Van Roey and Cofely Services.

‘Scholen van Morgen’ (‘Schools of Tomorrow’) is a public-private partnership in charge of the design, build and finance of 165 school infrastructure projects (comprising 200 buildings) in the Flemish Region of Belgium. With construction of all projects scheduled for completion by the end of 2016, the program also includes the maintenance of all constructions and technical installations during the first 30 years of use, after which the ownership is transferred to the individual schools at no cost. The 1.5 billion EUR program encompasses 625 000 m² total gross building area, both new build and renovation, and an additional 300 000 m² of landscaping.Appointed as delegated developer, AG Real Estate COPiD is in charge of coordination and follow-up of the design, build and maintenance phases.Within this program (cfr. BSF in UK) I am a project manager lead of 5 construction projects averaging between 4.5 and 18 mio. construction cost (3.000 to 16.500 sqm.) for which I am responsible for the contracts with the schools, architects and contractors, the invitation to tender of architects, planning and reporting, coordination with higher authorities and follow-up on the design fases and eventually construction.

▫ Watford Central Leisure Centre, value £10 million, completion 2008I was involved in the detail design and coordination of the Watford Central Leisure Centre, the Council's indoor sports facilities including a six-lane 25m pool and learner pool together with a four-court sports hall, fitness suite, dance studio and dry change facilities. The energy strategy for the facility incorporates high insulation, a roof mounted solar thermal array, ground linked heat pump water and space heating, and rainwater recycling. Initially working as part of a team of three I became the main point of contact for the contractor and was closely involved in coordination of the structure, M&E, pool tanks and changing areas. ▫ Brent Academy, value £26.4 million, completion 2010In spring 2008 I started working on the ITT submission of Brent Academy. This new academy offers 1,600 school places and includes a nursery, primary and secondary school, a two storey sports/drama hall, three hardplay areas, a floodlit sports pitch and outdoor play areas. With Brent Council aiming for a BREEAM score very good, I was involved in the coordination of the design, M&E and structure and in the development of the buildings and site.* Quality Management: Studio E's QMS System based on ISO 9001 and ISO 14001: assesment of a variety of office structures and procedures against the ISO recommendations.
