Work Experience: I began working at the Cincinnati Recreation Commission at the age of 14 as a Teen Intern. In this position, I learned how to plan educational and recreational activities for children ages 3 to 12. I learned how to complete the roles of the Recreation Program Leaders who are responsible for the well-being of large groups of children. These are the employees who interact directly with the children on a regular basis, allowing me to learn how properly care for all children, including those with disabilities. Most importantly, this position taught me valuable communication and teamwork skills that I still refer to today. I was promoted to a Recreation Program Leader in December of 2020 where I learned how to lead large groups and facilitate activates. This promotion began my yearly training in CPR for adults, children and infants along with CPI (crisis prevention intervention). In the spring of 2023, I was promoted to the position of Recreation Specialist. I still continue to complete the duties assigned to me as a Recreation Program Leader, however, I now also complete secretarial tasks such as filing paperwork, taking and logging payments, answering phone calls and interacting with recreation patrons outside of childcare. This position has given me the opportunity to grow my customer service skills, how to use office technology and better my time management.Education: I graduated high school in the spring of 2021 receiving a diploma with honors. While in high school I was a member of the National Honors Society, Spanish Honors Society and Hope Squad (a suicide prevention team). I also ran cross country for three years and participated in girl scouts from kindergarten to present.Currently I am a criminal justice student at the University of Cincinnati. I will be graduating in the spring of 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice, a minor in political science and a legal studies certificate. During my undergraduate career, I have maintained a 4.0/4,0 GPA, completed research to aid a doctoral student with their dissertation and participate in four clubs at UC, during this time I also work about 25 hours per week and babysit on the weekends. After graduation, I hope to be starting my master's degree at UC in criminal justice.
